I have had to cancel two fights recently because of a broken hand/ knuckle. The hand is healing well and I hope to fit in three fights this year. All my fight details and venues will be added to this site when confirmed. The hand is healing well, my fitness is also going very well so I hope to have a good year despite the injury setback.

July 2nd ~ At the Mountbatten Arena - Portsmouth - UK.

The hand stood up well to this first serious test. I knocked my opponent out in 26seconds of the first round.

My father Henry Ellis was a direct student of the legendary Budo Master Kenshiro Abbe Sensei from 1957. " The Ellis Schools of Traditional Aikido " have always followed the true traditional teachings of K Abbe Sensei, to this day, my father has always taught a strong and Positive Aikido style, believing that Aikido is a Martial Art. Modern Aikido is now many different things to many different people. Aikido seems to attract some latent hippy characaters and wannabe martial artists. To some it is some kind of quasi religeon. My father has said how saddenend he is to see much of what is offered as `` Aikido `` today is little more that a form of dancing. Or perhaps they should have just gone to a Yoga class.

Rik Ellis Aikido / MMA

Rik Ellis has trained in Aikido from the age of 5 yrs with his father Henry Ellis Sensei a British Aikido pioneer from 1957, and a direct student of the legendary Budo Master Kenshiro Abbe Sensei who introduced Aikido to Britain in 1955. Rik was involved in the preparation of the book ` Positive Aikido ` in New Mexico USA with his father and the co-authors Dave Rogers USA and Derek Eastman UK.
Rik took part in the great Kenshiro Abbe Memorial Event at Crystal Palace London in May 2005 when demonstrating with his father. He was proud to also take part in the M Nakazono Memorial Event at Neath in 2007. Rik has travelled to the USA teaching with his father in Dallas Texas and Alamogordo New Mexico on several occasions.

Rik trains with Nick `` headhunter `` Chapman - of - Fight Science of Guildford..He also trains with Suleman Raja of Prizefighters at Farnborough.
